Is there a way for the card scanner to recognize the card live in video?
That way the user only needs to flash the card in front of the camera to allow the card to be cataloged.

Hey @premadness
Yes that’s what we want for our card scanner ;)

The roadmap feature read as an image upload, not as a live scanner.
I am looking forward to this feature and would love to support you.
Make sure you have a premium version that does not have any additions and is only there for donations

Yep you right I should update the description, it evolves since we wrote it ;)
What do you mean by ‘that does not have any additions” ?

A paid version or addon as a way for users to support the development as you promised most if not all of the application will be free to use.
This does not need to add any functionality but only serves as a way to give back.

I currently use the Collectr app to scan my cards. Unfortunately, there are many problems with it. For example, the app does not recognize locations correctly in Lorcana, and automatic scanning is much too fast. This causes some cards to be registered twice if you don't immediately remove them from the camera area or place a new one directly on top of them. In addition, Collectr does not recognize the language of the cards because the app only evaluates the artwork. Reprints or different language variants are therefore recognized incorrectly or not at all.
The biggest problem, however, is the CSV file, which Cardnexsus cannot read correctly—even if I select the correct set and language during import. Cardnexsus can't do anything about this, but the Collectr format is simply impractical.
That's exactly why I'm really excited about Cardnexsus getting its own scan function. It would be even better if it worked directly in the browser, because I mainly use Cardnexsus on my PC.
I would also support a Pro or Patreon version to support the developers in the long term – as long as the prices remain moderate. I would find around $4.99 to $7.99 per month perfectly acceptable. It would be a shame if Cardnexsus were to be discontinued at some point, because the project has incredible potential.
The whole setup looks like this so far... That's why we really hope that cardnexsus will soon come up with something of its own without the need for exporting, importing, and adjusting lists ;=)

Hello and thank you for the detailed feedback, that's super helpful!
Our own Card Scanner is well under development and we already think it's better than Collectr's.
Our scanner distinguishes printings, but the v1 does not recognize languages - that’s something we’ll have for a V2. But you can set the language once for your whole scanning batch. It’s also much faster as it’s fully offline, and we do not allow you to scan the same card twice in a row to prevent those issues.
Regarding pricing - the goal is to have the marketplace fees pay for the collection manager for everyone. We think it can be economically viable, and we’d like not to charge a monthly fee. But we'll see!

Hello, I tried this awesome feature for some of my binders, and I think the scanner works pretty well there are few exceptions but not too much. Perhaps I think you can improve the scanner user experience by adding a button to “load more edtions” if the scanner find the card but the proposals are not in the right edition. You also currently allow to change the quality, the language and the version of a scanned card but you could also allow us to change the edition.

Hello !
Thank you for your feedback. These are very valid points and, in fact, they’re already on the list of improvements we’ll be rolling out to the mobile app over time.
Keep you posted on those 👌

One thing that confuses me is the browser scanner status on the roadmap.
The roadmap currently shows it as "Completed", but from a user perspective, I'm not sure what exactly has been completed.
When I think of a browser scanner, I think of a workflow where I can place a card under a webcam, scan it, slide it away, place the next card, scan again, and continue like that for hundreds of cards. Ideally, I should be able to scan 100 cards in just a few minutes.
I would also expect options similar to the mobile app, such as pre-selecting card variants and set information before scanning:
Regular
Holo
Reverse Holo
Poké Ball
Master Ball
Specific set selection
For large collections, this kind of workflow is absolutely critical.
Maybe I'm missing something, but if the browser scanner is considered completed, where can users access it, and does it already support high-volume inventory workflows?
Because for many sellers, especially those managing tens of thousands of cards, a desktop scanner is significantly more important than mobile scanning.
And to be completely honest: if the idea is that the mobile scanner is supposed to be the long-term solution and that it is already "good enough" for large sellers, then you've probably already lost me as a seller and customer.
In that case, I will simply continue selling through eBay and Cardmarket. Not because I dislike CardNexus, but because managing, organizing, and listing large inventories through a phone app is just too cumbersome and time-consuming for the scale I'm working with.
A marketplace only grows if sellers can efficiently upload and manage inventory. The easier it is for sellers to list thousands of cards, the more attractive the platform becomes for buyers. That's why I believe a powerful browser scanner and desktop workflow should be among the highest priorities for the platform.
Could you clarify what functionality is included in the completed browser scanner and what future improvements are still planned?
