How to cancel an order before it ships, what happens next, and how refunds work.

When You Can Cancel

You can request a cancellation while your order is still in Awaiting Shipment status โ€” meaning the seller hasn't shipped it yet. Once an order has been shipped, it can no longer be cancelled.

To request a cancellation:

  1. Go to your Purchases page

  2. Find the order you want to cancel

  3. Click Request Cancellation

The 48-Hour Response Window

After you request a cancellation, the seller has 48 hours to respond. During this window, the seller can either:

  • Accept the cancellation โ€” the order is cancelled and your refund begins immediately

  • Mark as shipped โ€” if the seller has already shipped the package, they can add the tracking number and mark the order as shipped. This cancels your cancellation request and the order continues normally as if no cancellation was requested.

If the seller doesn't respond within 48 hours, the cancellation is automatically approved and your refund is processed. You don't need to do anything extra.

When a cancellation is approved (by the seller or automatically), your refund is sent back to your original payment method:

Refund timelines depend on your bank or payment provider. CardNexus initiates the refund immediately, but it may take a few business days to appear in your account.

Other Ways an Order Can Be Cancelled

It's not just buyers who can cancel:

Seller cancels

The seller decides they can't fulfill the order (e.g., they can't find the card). You receive an immediate full refund.

Auto-cancel

If the seller doesn't ship within 5 business days, the order is automatically cancelled and you get a full refund.

In all cancellation scenarios, you receive a full refund โ€” including any shipping costs and buyer fees.

Already Shipped?

If the order has already shipped, you can't cancel it โ€” the cancellation option is no longer available once the order moves to Shipped status.

If you wanted to cancel before shipment but the seller already sent the package, you'll need to wait for delivery. Once the order arrives, if you still don't want the cards, you can try clicking Ask for Help with the reason "Other" and see if the seller would be willing to accept a return. Keep in mind that this is not guaranteed โ€” the seller is not obligated to accept a return for a change of mind.
