Shipping Rates Guide

This page explains how shipping works on the CardNexus marketplace: how package sizes are determined, how shipping zones work, and how default rates are set.

All shipments on CardNexus are tracked. Every order receives a tracking number so both buyer and seller can follow the package from dispatch to delivery.

Package Size Tiers

Every order is assigned a package size based on what is being shipped:

SizeWhat fitsTypical weightPackaging

Small

1-49 singles

50-100 g

Toploader + bubble mailer

Medium

50+ cards, booster packs, deck boxes

250-500 g

Large

Medium shipping box

XLarge

3-5 kg

Large shipping box

If an order contains multiple items, the largest package size is used. If an order contains 50 or more individual cards, it is automatically bumped to at least Medium.

Shipping Zones

Shipping cost depends on where the seller and buyer are located. There are three zones:

Domestic

The seller and buyer are in the same country. This is always the cheapest option.

Region

The seller and buyer are in different countries within the same trade region:

  • EU region: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain

  • NA region: United States, Canada

For example, a seller in France shipping to Germany pays the regional rate.

Global

Everything else โ€” any shipment that crosses regional boundaries. For example, a seller in Germany shipping to the United States, or a seller in Canada shipping to Italy.

Zone hierarchy

Sellers can enable or disable zones in their settings. The hierarchy is: Domestic < Region < Global. You must have domestic enabled to enable regional, and regional enabled to enable global.

How Default Rates Are Determined

Default rates are assigned to new sellers based on the tracked postal services available in their country.

Tracked services only

Every shipment on CardNexus requires tracking. Default rates are based only on postal services that provide a tracking number. This protects both buyers and sellers in case of disputes.

Pricing approach

Default rates are set at approximately 75-85% of the cheapest retail tracked postal rate for each country and size tier.

  • Small items: Uses the cheapest tracked letter or tracked packet service available in the seller's country.

  • Medium, Large, and XLarge items: Uses standard parcel services where tracking is included by default.

Country-specific rates

Each supported country has its own set of default rates based on its national postal service pricing. Rates are denominated in the seller's marketplace currency (EUR for European countries, USD for North American countries).

You can see the exact default rates that apply to your country in your Seller Settings > Shipping page.

Customizing Your Rates

As a seller, you have full control over your shipping rates:

  • Default rates are pre-filled as a starting point based on national postal service costs.

  • You can increase or decrease rates freely to match your actual shipping costs.

  • If you have negotiated better carrier rates or use alternative shipping providers, set lower rates that reflect your real costs.

  • You can set any rate to zero to offer free shipping for that zone and package size.

  • A maximum cap per currency is enforced to prevent accidental misconfiguration.

To update your rates, go to Settings > Shipping in your seller dashboard.
