Shipping Policy
Shipping deadline, tracked parcels, untracked letters, who carries a lost letter, Shield and returns: the shipping rules for every CardNexus order.
Last updated 41 minutes ago
CardNexus is a marketplace: the seller ships every order. This page sets the shipping rules that apply to every order placed on CardNexus, in Europe and in North America. Sellers set their own shipping prices; the rules below say what they must do, by when, and who is responsible if something goes wrong. The Terms and Conditions refer to this page.
Shipping deadline
Sellers have 5 business days after the order to ship it. Reminders go out during that time, and the buyer is warned before the deadline. If the order has not been marked as shipped by the deadline, it is cancelled automatically and the buyer is refunded in full. The buyer can extend the deadline from the order page if they prefer to wait.
Tracked parcels
Tracked shipping is the standard on CardNexus. Any carrier works, as long as it gives a tracking number: we follow more than 1,200 postal services and couriers. When you mark the order as shipped, enter the tracking number; the buyer follows the parcel from their order page and delivery is confirmed automatically.
Higher-value orders need extra care. From the amounts below, the parcel must travel with signature on delivery and be packed in a rigid cardboard box, not an envelope or a bubble mailer:
Untracked letters
For small, low-value orders, sellers can offer shipping as an untracked letter: a stamped envelope with no tracking number. It is cheaper for everyone, and it is how most single cards travel between collectors.
Which orders qualify
The order is shipped inside the seller's country, or inside the seller's region (Europe, or the United States and Canada). Untracked letters never cross between Europe and North America.
The items fit an XS or S package.
The items total (shipping not included) is under the cap for its currency:
Who can offer it
The seller decides. Untracked shipping is managed per zone (domestic, regional) in the shipping settings, with its own XS and S prices. In the United States and Canada it is on by default and the seller can switch it off; in Europe it is off until the seller switches it on. In Europe, a seller can offer untracked letters once they have at least one completed sale on CardNexus, and a buyer is offered them once they have at least one completed purchase; the two conditions are independent. In the United States and Canada there is no such condition. CardNexus may change these conditions, and may withdraw untracked shipping from a buyer or a seller where it suspects fraud or abuse, for example after repeated "not received" claims or repeated lost letters.
What the buyer sees
When a seller offers untracked shipping on an eligible order, the cart shows "Untracked" next to the shipping price. There is no tracking and no delivery notification for that letter. The buyer cannot ask for a tracked service instead; the seller chooses the method and carries the responsibility that comes with it. Buyer protection is the same as for any other order: if the letter does not arrive, or the cards do not match the listing, the buyer is refunded.
Who carries a lost or damaged letter
If an untracked letter is lost or arrives damaged, the buyer is refunded in full, fees included. Who pays depends on the letter. In Europe and in Canada, the seller carries the loss and receives nothing for the sale. In the United States, a letter with a scannable postage barcode that the carrier scanned at least once is covered by CardNexus Shield at no cost, so the seller keeps the sale; a plain-stamp letter, or a barcoded letter with no carrier scan, is at the seller's risk.
How an untracked order closes
The seller marks the order as shipped. In Europe there is no tracking number to enter. In the United States, enter the barcode number from the postage label if you have one; it is what qualifies the letter for Shield cover.
The order closes 10 business days after it was marked as shipped. The buyer receives a reminder 3 days and 1 day before.
The buyer can confirm receipt earlier, which closes the order right away, or report a problem before the order closes. "Not received" can be reported from the 7th day after shipping.
If the carrier records the letter as delivered before the order closes (barcoded letters in the United States), that scan counts as the delivery date: the order then completes 7 days after it, as for a tracked parcel, and any problem must be reported within those 7 days.
When the order closes, the seller is paid.
Reporting a letter that never arrived
Because there is no tracking, we ask the buyer to confirm their identity (a quick check run by Stripe; CardNexus never sees the document) and to sign a short declaration that the letter did not arrive. A false declaration is a serious breach of the Terms and leads to account suspension and, where appropriate, legal action.
CardNexus Shield
Shield covers a seller's shipment against loss, theft, damage and non-delivery. In Europe, it is an option the seller adds when marking a tracked parcel as shipped, for 1% of the items' value; it is not available on untracked letters. In the United States and Canada, Shield is included at no cost on tracked parcels and on letters with a scanned postage barcode; it is not available on plain-stamp letters. The CardNexus Shield Terms of Service set out the conditions and how to claim.
Returns
Returns always travel by tracked mail, in both directions, whatever the original shipping method. See the Return & Refund Policy for your region.
Changes to this policy
CardNexus may change the caps, sizes and eligibility conditions on this page. Changes apply to orders placed after they are published.
