How do I start selling?
The first time you try to list a card for sale, CardNexus will guide you through a quick onboarding flow — pick your country (which determines your listing currency) and you'll get default shipping rates based on your location. After that, your inventory is your listing source — select cards from your collection, set prices, and publish. See Getting Started as a Seller for the full walkthrough.
Do I need to verify my identity?
Not right away. Individual sellers can list items and make sales without completing full identity verification. We only require additional verification when you request your first payout. This lets you test the waters before committing to the full verification process. See Seller Verification for details.
What fees do I pay as a seller?
Sellers pay a commission on each order they fulfill: 5% in Europe and 8% in North America. The fee is calculated on the order total (items + shipping) and deducted automatically from your payout — you never pay it upfront. If a buyer uses a promo code, CardNexus absorbs the discount — your payout is never affected. See Fee Structure Overview for examples.
How long until I get paid?
After an order is delivered, there's a 7-day review window for the buyer to inspect their cards. Once the order completes (either after the buyer confirms or the 7 days pass), there's an additional short settlement period before the funds are transferred to your Stripe account. From there, Stripe processes the payout to your bank according to your payout schedule.
All orders have a minimum 7-day fund hold from the order creation date, regardless of how quickly delivery is confirmed. This is a safety measure built into the platform.
What happens if a buyer requests a cancellation?
You'll receive a notification immediately. You have 48 hours to either accept the cancellation or ship the order. If you ship within the 48-hour window, the cancellation is voided and the order continues normally. If you don't respond within 48 hours, the cancellation is automatically approved and the buyer is refunded. See When You Receive an Order for more on managing orders.
How should I package cards for shipping?
Use a rigid toploader or card saver for each card, wrap in a sleeve to prevent sliding, and place in a padded envelope or small box. For larger orders (50+ cards), use a sturdy box with padding. The goal is to prevent bending, moisture damage, and movement during transit. Buyers rate your packaging — good packaging means better reviews.
What if a buyer opens a dispute?
You'll be notified immediately and have 2 business days to review the complaint and propose a resolution (full refund, partial refund, no refund, or return). You and the buyer can negotiate back and forth. If you can't reach an agreement, the dispute escalates to the CardNexus team for a final decision. See Reporting a Problem for how the process works from both sides.
How do reviews work?
CardNexus uses a double-blind review system. After an order completes, both buyer and seller have 7 days to submit a review. Neither party can see the other's review until both have submitted or the deadline passes. Buyers rate sellers on accuracy, packaging, and communication (1-5 stars each). Reviews are final and cannot be edited once submitted.
Can I sell in both EUR and USD?
Not from the same account. Your country selection during seller onboarding determines which currency you sell in — EUR for European countries, USD for North American countries. This can't be changed afterward. If you need to sell in both currencies, you'd need separate accounts.
Your country selection during seller onboarding is permanent and determines your listing currency and payout currency. Choose carefully.
