Seller Verification

Before you can withdraw your earnings, CardNexus needs to verify your identity — handled securely through Stripe.

When Is Verification Required?

Not right away. As an individual seller, you can list items and make sales without completing verification. We only ask you to verify when you request your first payout.

This means you can:

  1. Set up your seller account

  2. List cards for sale

  3. Make sales and accumulate earnings

  4. Complete verification when you're ready to cash out

This low-friction approach lets you try selling without committing to a full verification process upfront. If you never make a sale, you never need to verify.

How Verification Works

Verification is handled securely through Stripe Connect, our payment processor.

When you first set up as a seller, you'll provide your full legal name and date of birth. That's enough to get started.

When you request your first payout, you'll be asked for additional information:

  • Address

  • Phone number (in some countries)

Depending on your account activity, Stripe may also request a government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID card). This is determined by Stripe based on regulatory thresholds — not every seller will be asked for it, but it's possible.

Stripe handles all the sensitive data — CardNexus never sees or stores your identity documents.

What Happens After Verification?

  • Your seller status becomes active

  • You can request payouts at any time

  • Your earnings are transferred to your connected bank account via Stripe

Pro Seller Verification (Coming Soon)

For businesses and high-volume sellers, we're building a Pro seller verification path that includes business verification (KYB). This will require business registration documents and additional compliance checks. More details coming soon.

Common Questions

Can I sell before verifying? Yes — individual sellers can list and sell immediately. Verification is only required for payouts.

How long does verification take? Usually a few minutes. Stripe reviews your documents automatically. In rare cases, manual review may take 1–2 business days.

What if my verification is rejected? Stripe will tell you what's needed. Common issues include blurry ID photos or mismatched names. You can resubmit as many times as needed.

Is my data safe? Yes. Stripe is a PCI-certified payment processor used by millions of businesses. CardNexus never sees or stores your identity documents.
