When You Receive an Order

You've Got a Sale

When a buyer purchases your cards, you'll receive a notification (in-app and email). The order starts in Awaiting Shipment status, which means the buyer has paid and is waiting for you to ship.

What You Need to Do

Step 1: Review the Order

Check the order details — which cards were purchased, the shipping address, and the total amount. Make sure you have the cards ready to go.

Step 2: Confirm and Ship

You have 5 business days to confirm and ship the order. Confirming means you're committing to sending the cards to the buyer.

Once you've packaged the cards and dropped them off with your carrier, add the tracking number to the order. This moves the order to Shipped status and the buyer can start tracking the package.

All shipments on CardNexus must be tracked. You need to add a valid tracking number to the order — untracked shipments are not supported. This protects both you and the buyer. For packaging and shipping tips, see Shipping Your Order.

Step 3: You're Done

After shipping, there's nothing more you need to do. The buyer will receive the package, and after a review period, your funds will be released. See Getting Paid for details on when you'll receive your earnings.

What If You Can't Fulfill the Order?

Sometimes things happen — you can't find the card, it's damaged, or there's another issue. If you can't fulfill an order:

  • Cancel early — don't leave the buyer waiting. Cancel the order as soon as you know you can't ship it.

  • The buyer receives an automatic full refund.

  • Cancelling orders may affect your seller rating, so try to keep your inventory accurate to avoid this situation.

Don't ignore orders hoping they'll go away. If you don't take action within 5 business days, the order is automatically cancelled, the buyer gets a refund, and this counts against your seller reputation.

What If the Buyer Requests a Cancellation?

If a buyer requests a cancellation, you'll receive a notification about the request. You have 48 hours to respond:

  • Accept the cancellation — the buyer gets a full refund

  • Mark as shipped — if you've already shipped the package, add the tracking number and mark the order as shipped. This cancels the cancellation request and the order continues normally.

If you don't respond within 48 hours, the cancellation is automatically accepted and the buyer is refunded.

If the buyer asks for a cancellation and you haven't shipped the package yet, we recommend accepting the cancellation — even if it's disappointing. This is the simplest way to avoid potential disputes or issues after delivery.
